The premium sedan market segment is BMW India, which has launched the 2021 BMW 5 Series facelift. The 530i M Sport starts at Rs 62.9 lakhs, and the 520d Luxury Line starts at Rs 63.9 lakhs and Rs 71.9 lakhs (all prices before the Indian showroom) for 530d M Sport. The new 5 Series is available in gasoline and diesel versions and can be purchased from all BMW dealers today. In addition, the company also announced that the selected M Performance accessories series of M Sport models can enjoy up to 50% discount, and online reservations are valid until July 24, 2021. The new 5 series will use Mercedes-Benz and other models. India’s E-class, Audi A6, and Jaguar XF.

Exterior
The exterior changes on the 5 Series facelift are targeting the front grille, which is wider and positioned less than before. It also receives a replacement single-frame design, with a central element in chrome, and sits within a reprofiled front bumper. The larger grille gels alright with the new headlights, which feature BMW’s Laserlight tech within the higher M Sport variants. The headlights get a quad-LED beam, L-shaped daytime running lights, and indicators that are located at the outer edges.
The facelift also gets more heavily structured tail-lights – which are similar in design to those on the newest 3 Series – also as a redesigned rear bumper. Furthermore, all 5 Series models get trapezoidal tailpipes, no matter the variant. What’s also standard across the range are the 18-inch alloys, with customers having the choice to spec up to larger wheel sizes. There also are two new paint shades on offer – Phytonic Blue and Bernina Grey Amber.
The updated 5 Series is 27mm longer than the outgoing model, though the width, height, and wheelbase remain unchanged.
Interior and Features
BMW 5 Series facelift sports an equivalent silhouette as its predecessor but gets a much bigger kidney grille with a single-piece chrome surround. This new grille is flanked by sleeked full-LED adaptive headlights (Laserlight in M Sport variants) with new L-shaped LED DRLs that immediately help one tell the new one aside from the previous 5 Series. The sedan also gets a replacement design for the 18-inch alloy wheels (although customers can choose 20-inches), new split tail lights with L-shaped LED signature, a replacement rear bumper, and trapezoidal exhaust tips. The M Sport variant gets newly designed mesh-type air intakes, a special design for alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and a rear diffuser.
The new 5 Series has an equivalent interior layout because of the previous model but the 530i M Sport variant gets perforated Sensatec upholstery while the 520d Luxury Line comes with Natural Leather Dakota upholstery. The top-end 530d, however, gets Nappa leather upholstery with diamond stitching. The sedan comes with features sort of a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with an iDrive 7.0 interface, BMW Virtual Assistant and gesture control, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, etc. The new 5 Series also features a head-up display, glass sunroof, ambient lighting with six dimmable designs, and four-zone climate control.

Engine Specs
The BMW 5 Series facelift is out there with three engine options – one petrol and two types of diesel. The petrol engine within the 530i variants may be a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged unit that produces 252hp and 350Nm. The smaller diesel within the 520d may be a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder unit that creates 190hp and 400Nm, while the larger diesel within the 530d may be a 3.0-liter, in-line six units that pushes out 265hp and 620Nm of torque. An 8-speed converter automatic gearbox is standard across the range.
