Mercedes has just launched the performance-oriented AMG E53 and E63 S in India. The E53 starts at 1.02 crore and the E63 S starts at 1.70 crores (except for the Indian showroom). It is also worth mentioning that the E53 and E63 S are equipped with a standard wheelbase, while the conventional E-class cars in India use a long-wheelbase (LWB) form. The E63 S six-cylinder twin-turbo in-line engine is equipped with a 612-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Both models are equipped with Mercedes’ 4Matic + all-wheel-drive system. The interior and functions are the same as the Class’s revised electronics.
Essentially, the E53 is an entry-level AMG model with a new E-Class facelift, which is higher than the standard range but lower than the full E63 S. This is the first time the E-Class has been put on the market. The appearance of the AMG E53 in India uses the updated styling and technology of the improved E-Class, although it has many AMG-specific design changes. These include the AMG special grille with 12 vertical slats and the enlarged Mercedes logo, as well as the more aggressive front bumper. At the rear, there are flatter brake lights, a small spoiler on the edge of the luggage compartment and a redesigned skirt, which has also been aerodynamically optimized.

Interier
Internally, it shares its overall design with the E-class facelift, and is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen MBUX infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, although both displays offer options. AMG monitors are tailor-made. There are also functions such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connections, cordless phone chargers and 360-degree parking cameras. Other AMG-specific features include the new AMG Performance dual-spoke steering wheel with larger aluminum shift paddles and tactile feedback controls, front AMG sports seats and AMG badges throughout the cabin.
Engine and gearbox
The E53 is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbocharged gasoline engine (same as the engine in the GLE 53 Coupé), which produces 435 horsepower and 520 Nm. The powertrain is also equipped with Mercedes EQ Boost, a 48V mild hybrid power system that can increase the total power to 22 horsepower and 250 Nm under strong acceleration. The transmission function is performed by a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the power reaches all four wheels through Mercedes’ advanced 4Matic + all-wheel drive system. Mercedes also offers AMG ride control + air suspension as standard equipment.
Mercedes AMG Detail
The new Mercedes-AMG E63 S is the top model, offering higher performance than the E53. In terms of styling, the E63 S is very similar to the E53, although it has a more aggressive front bumper, new rear diffuser, square exhaust pipes and 20-inch alloy wheels. On the other hand, compared with E53, the interior and feature list remain unchanged. Under the hood is the main difference from the E53, because the E63 S uses the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine as the E53. Pre-lift model.
This engine produces 612 horsepower and 850 Nm (the same power as before), 177 horsepower and 330 Nm more than the E53. The engine is also equipped with cylinder deactivation technology to improve fuel efficiency. There is also a 9-speed automatic transmission, which uses the 4Matic+ system to send power to all four wheels. All of this allowed the E63 S to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
