LEONCINO 800 Grey HERO 720x609 1

The Leoncino 800 was on exhibit at the Auto Expo 2023 in India. Here’s what we saw as we got close to the Chinese middleweight. The Leoncino800, like its younger brothers, has a brawny design. The bike has a lot of presence thanks to the LED headlamp, massive fuel tank, exposed chassis, and overall chunky dimensions. It is propelled by a 754cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine producing 75bhp and 64Nm. Meanwhile, the engine is linked to a six-speed transmission and housed within a trellis frame.

In terms of features, Benelli has outfitted the Leoncino with a completely digital display. It has all of the necessary readouts, such as the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, gear position indicator, and more. The Leoncino 800 is outfitted with USD front forks and a mono-shock. In addition, the braking system has dual 320mm front discs and a single 260mm rear disc with ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tires. Benelli India currently exclusively sells the Leoncino 500 in our market. And if Samsung does introduce the 800 here, we expect it to be substantially more expensive than the 500.

The SR250 is Keeway’s second model in the “SR” line, and it was just introduced in India. The motorcycle’s ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.49 lakh puts it directly in competition with the TVS Ronin, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, and Kawasaki W175 models.

A 223cc, single-cylinder engine producing 16bhp and 16Nm powers the SR250. The motorcycle is very lightweight, weighing only 120kg when fully fueled from its 14.2-liter gasoline tank. The SR250 has vintage-style bodywork, a circular headlamp, a ribbed pattern on the brown seat, fork gaiters, and spoke wheels, just like its smaller sibling, the SR125. The suspension system is made up of telescopic forks and dual shocks at the back, while a 300mm front disc and 210mm rear disc are used for braking. A semi-analog instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS are among its outdated feature list.

Currently, Keeway is taking reservations for a nominal fee of Rs 2,000, with deliveries beginning somewhere in February.

Matter electric motorcycle with larger battery on display at Auto Expo 2023

Design direction

At the Auto Expo 2023, the Ahemdabad-based startup Matter Motors displayed two of its electric motorcycles. The motorcycle was already known, but the manufacturer has now introduced a new variation to the lineup.

In comparison to the conventional 5kWh battery pack, this new variation has a 6kWh battery pack. The Integrated Intelligent Thermal Management System, which is effectively a liquid-cooling technology, is still included. Now, a 10.5kW electric motor with 520Nm of claimed output powers the battery packs. It’s interesting that it comes with a four-speed manual transmission. According to Matter, depending on the model, the range will range between 125km and 150km.

However, the Matter e-motorcycle includes amenities such as full-LED lighting, storage capacity, and a smart mobile charging connector. It also has a seven-inch touchscreen with 4G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Android software that displays information such as gear position, riding mode, navigation, calls, and media.

The only item that remains is the motorcycle’s pricing, which the firm is anticipated to reveal in the first half of February. The Matte e-motorcycle will compete with the Revolt RV400 and the Oben Rorr when it is released.

Liger Mobility debuts self-balancing electric scooters at the 2023 Auto Show

Liger X 2.3.5 2048x1152 1

At the present Auto Expo 2023, Liger Mobility unveiled the Liger X and Liger X+ electric scooters. Both electric scooters are equipped with the company’s patented AutoBalancing technology, which allows the goods to balance themselves automatically. The purpose of this function is to improve rider safety, comfort, and convenience. The AutoBalancing System is designed to assist riders in keeping their scooters balanced at moderate speeds or when the vehicle is stationary. The rider can also engage and remove the AutoBalancing mechanism manually.

The Liger X and Liger X+ also have Learner mode and ReverseRide in addition to AutoBalancing. With the former, the electric scooter can be redirected by the user by using the engine’s power. The Learner mode, meanwhile, makes use of AutoBalancing while also capping the vehicle’s speed. To further improve the product, the company will also send over-the-air updates (OTA).

Ashutosh Upadhyay, the co-founder of Liger Mobility, discussed the new devices and noted that the hardware and software for the AutoBalancing technology used by Liger X and Liger X+ were both created in-house. The AutoBalancing technology, according to Vikas Poddar, co-founder of Liger Mobility, promises to further ignite the electric revolution.

Grey, Polar White, Blue, Titanium, and Red are the five colors that the new Liger X and Liger X+ will be offered in. The top speed of both variations will be 65 kmph. The ranges of the models will vary, though. The Liger X is expected to have a range of 60 kilometers, according to the manufacturer, while the Liger X+ is expected to have a range of 100 km. Keep in mind that both scooters use lithium-ion battery packs that are liquid-cooled.

The battery pack for the Liger X may be detached and charged in 3 hours. The Liger X+, on the other hand, charges completely in 4.5 hours and has an internal, non-detachable battery. For both models, the firm will charge extra for rapid charging choices. These variations have a specific application and include 4G and GPS connection as well. They also have a TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation and LED lighting.

Bookings for the new Liger X and Lifer X+ will begin in the middle of 2023, and deliveries are anticipated to start later that year.
