The world car finals powered by Brembo begin today with the announcement of the Top 10 and Top 5 finalists in six World Car Awards categories and conclude on April 13 with the winners being presented live at the 2022 New York International Auto Show. A panel of 102 eminent worldwide automotive journalists from 33 countries selected the finalists by secret ballot based on their evaluation of each qualifying vehicle as part of their professional work.
A World Electric Vehicle of the Year trophy is a new addition to the 2022 awards program. This new award is meant to honor, promote, and celebrate the worldwide transition to electric cars that is now ongoing, as well as to reward the efforts of manufacturers throughout the world in producing these environmentally-friendly vehicles.
