Tata Motors will increase its vehicle lineup in India with the release of the Punch sub-compact SUV in October 2021. The firm had previously said that the rates will remain in effect until December 31, 2021. In accordance with this, Tata Motors will modify the pricing of the Punch micro-SUV beginning in January 2022. Aside from the Punch, Tata Motors will modify the pricing of other vehicles in its lineup. The amount of the price increase will be revealed at a later date.
At the Global NCAP crash test, Tata Punch received a five-star rating for adult protection and a four-star rating for kid passenger safety. The Punch is a formidable challenger in the B-segment, because of the increased awareness of road safety. Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and corner safety control, front fog lamp with cornering function, child seat ISOFIX anchor points, parametric alarm system, reverse parking camera, tire puncture repair kit, driver and co-driver seat belt reminders, and the segment’s first Brake Sway Control are among the safety features.
The car has 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, a single-slat grille, 90-degree opening doors, projector headlights, and other features to emphasize its SUV identity. The Punch comes with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, automatic climate control, an engine start-stop button, a digital-analog instrument console, steering-mounted controls, iRA technology, and a cooled glovebox, depending on the variant.
The Tata Punch is powered by a new-generation 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine with 84bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 3,300rpm. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT option. To satisfy unique driving needs, the car has two engine drive modes (Eco and City). More information about the price increase will be available soon.
