Volkswagen Virtus has been officially teased ahead of its world debut on March 8th

Volkswagen India has announced that the world premiere of its next global mid-size car would take place on March 8, 2022. This all-new mid-size car, dubbed the Volkswagen Virtus, will likely replace the company’s aging Vento in the company’s India lineup. The Volkswagen Virtus has been teased in the latest official teaser ahead of its global premiere by the German carmaker’s Indian affiliate.

What is it New Volkswagen Virtus

The future Volkswagen Virtus will be the German automaker’s second model under the Volkswagen Group’s new India 2.0 program. Taigun was VW’s initial product under this concept. Furthermore, the new Volkswagen Virtus for India will share its foundations and mechanicals with the Skoda Slavia. The Virtus teaser image gives us a good notion of the design components of this car.

Expect Skoda and Volkswagen to leverage equipment and features as another point of distinction between the Kushaq and Taigun. In top-spec form, the VW Virtus will most likely have a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, connected car tech, leatherette upholstery, a sunroof, keyless entry and go, auto headlamps and wipers, a tire-pressure monitor, LED headlamps, automatic climate control, six airbags, and much more.

Engine and Transmission

It receives a sharper grille up front, complemented by LED projector headlights. It has crisp LED DRLs and chrome surrounds, and the bumper seems to be sportier than the previous Vento. When it comes to powertrains, this mid-size sedan will be available with a 1.0-liter TSI engine that produces 113 horsepower and 178 Nm and is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

It will also be equipped with a 1.5-liter TSI engine that produces 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque, as well as a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG transmission. The new Volkswagen Virtus will be built on the MQB A0-IN platform, which is designed specifically for India. On March 8, 2022, this mid-size vehicle will have its worldwide premiere in India. It will compete with the Skoda Slavia, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna when it debuts.
